We wanted to tell you in a different way on the first leg of the Italian Absolute Championship of Beach Volleyball, held in the weekend in Milan with many players, old and new, of the circuit. Unfortunately, it was not possible: in the day of Sunday, June 16, our reporter Eugenio Peralta, after a few minutes of arriving at the centre court set up in Piazza Castello, it is seen to withdraw the press accreditation and, with it, denied the chance to carry out his work and follow the final with content and interviews original.
To rip literally from the neck of our journalist the pass for access to the field, reducing it then in pieces, it was in first person, the ex president of the Regional Committee of Lombardia, Adriano Pucci Mossotti, on which occasion it is qualified as “Executive Director of the CRAI Milan Volleyball Week”. Pucci Mossotti, identifying the posted Volleyball NEWS as a “person not welcome”, he then instructed the security personnel to accompany him to the exit and departed without further explanations.
Following the grievances of our journalist is presented on the spot, the press responsible of the Italian Absolute Championship, appointed by the Italian Volleyball Federation to follow all the stages of the event. The latter said he could not intervene in the matters related to the “local press” (beyond the already questionable “distinction”, a category to which, as has been noted, can not be traced Volleyball NEWS, national newspaper, that, with a million pages open is among the most read in Italy) and having to redo the decisions of the lombardy Regional Committee of the Italian Volleyball Federation, which was however not present at that time, no representative.
In conclusion, then, the accreditation has not been returned, and our reporter was forced to leave the field of play.
It should be added, as a matter of fact, that even those who have been able to maintain the pass the neck meets the conditions of the work rather difficult: the journalists present, in fact, were invited to sit in the stands with the audience, not having been provided no work space on the bench if not the narrow corridor intended for photographers on one of the two short sides.
Here the facts in the editorial which you can read here, you will find our commentary.
