Second victory of the season, before the 3-0, for the Saugella Monza Maximum Dagioni, good to beat in three sets in less than an hour and a half, the Lardini Filottrano. An evening game with sadness due to the untimely death of the director-general of the Pro Victoria Volley Monza Alberto Nespoli, mentioned at the beginning of the race with a minute of silence, the citizens respond with a performance of great generosity and determination, earning them a important dose of confidence and morale after three consecutive defeats.
On saturday night, which saw the advance of the sixth day of the second round of the Serie A1 women, Monza has worn her best dress, made of solidity in defence (Parish MVP of the race, which is always present on every ball), cynicism in attack, with Ortolani and Meijners to make an impact with precision, and a good continuity in the service (4 ace of the team, of which two of Orthmann and one to the head of Heyrman and Meijners). But it is also the wall to have worked with timing: Danish and Ortolani brave to stop the attempts of reaction of a Filottrano never tamed, guided by the solos of Angelina, Bianchini and Feverfew that, the second set as he tried to get back in the set, clashing however with a Monza really too motivated to get rip set and points from the guests.
Floortje Meijners (Saugella Monza): “For us, this was a very important race. We’ve dealt with focused, motivated, and after a week of great intensity in the gym, and we brought home the three points. Finally we were able to express our game: this gives us the confidence to prepare even more carefully for the next race. We managed to put them in trouble especially with the attack. We grew up a lot, but we can do better”.
First set: the Saugella Monza pushes strong with Orthmann and Meijners, 3-1. A good turn to the service of Nicoletti facilitates the return of the marche region, able to engage and overtake, 5-4. Still have guests more brilliant both in defence that the wall (two in a row), escaping the 9-5, with the winning selection of Angelina and Dagioni called time-out. At the resumption of the game error Orthmann, then played the game, Meijners, but the hands off of Angelina relying on the extension of Lardini, 12-6. With the wall-Ortolani on Angelina the master of the house come to trust you and go back with Orthmann, forcing Slave to time-out. With Danish Monza shortens to less than two (12-10), acciuffando equality thanks to the winning attack of Ortolani and some deburring of the guests 15-15. Point to point until 17-17, when Angelina shoots out and Meijners square pipe winning 19-17 Saugella and time-out Slave. An error in the service for part accompanies the game 20-18, then Monza crushes on the accelerator with Ortolani (two successful attack for her), and terminating the partial 25-21, thanks to a mistake of the marches.
Second set: point to the starting point (4-4), then break Saugella Monza with Meijners and Orthmann, 6-4. Heyrman consolidates the advantage of the master of the house with an ace (8-5), but two solos Grant approach Filottrano (8-7). The guests are very generous in defence and clever in the play on the counter attack with Feverfew (11-10). Monza, however, does not come as a surprise, impacting on the wall, with Heyrman and Meijners to do the big voice, and building a new advantage, 14-10. In Bianchini for Nicoletti, but Meijners is irresistible in the attacking phase (15-10), with Orthmann that the company makes (17-11), forcing the Slave to call the pause. Wall Orthmann on Bianchini, ace Meijners and the Slave calls the collection her on 19-11 for Saugella. Hands off Heyrman, the wall of the Danes to Angelina and Monza is closer to the conquest of the sets (21-13). Bianchini guide the reaction of the guests (24-17), but the Saugella terminating the partial with Meijners, 25-18.
Third set: strong part Filottrano with the play of Angelina, 3-0. A hands and out to the head of the Danish and Orthmann, and the pipe of Meijners, however, allow the Saugella to catch the parity (3-3). Point-to-point at 4-4, then again two consecutive points of the guests (6-4), but the ready reaction of the citizens with the error of Bianchini and the wall of Heyrman on the Partenio (6-6). Equilibrium reigns until 9-9, when the Lardini escapes again with Moretto, Bianchini, and Papafotiou (ace), 12-9. Ace of Orthmann after the error in the batting Angelina winning attack of Meijners and Monza, snap (13-13), running away with the wall of the Danes on Moretto (15-13) and forcing the Slave to the time-out. Angelina goes to sign twice with the pipe (15-15), then point-to-point up to 18-18, the error of Nicoletti at the service, attack winning Orthmann (20-18) and time-out Slave. Filottrano chase of the new equality accomplice some deburring of the citizens (20-20), but the Saugella is cynical and close the set, 25-23, and the race 3-0.
