Messi talks about his contract extension
Under contract until June 2021, with the FC Barcelona, Lionel Messi (32 years old) has great chances to finish his career in Catalonia. La Pulga, who only had two years of contract, however, remains very much at ease with his personal situation and explains, with Rac-1, that there has not yet been discussion to extend its lease. “Obviously, I’m delighted to stay. I repeat that my idea is to stay. It does not change. An extension course ? No. This is not yet very clear. There is nothing concrete from what I was told by my father. I don’t put myself in those issues. I’ve never had a problem with the club, it was always very straightforward with the club. If it happens, it will be done quietly, I don’t,” he said.
While he has always stated that he wanted to finish his career in Argentina, Newell’s, Messi is gradually changing opinions, for the well being of his family. “Today, it is clear that my idea is to finish here. Mostly because it is here as well, for what I feel for the club, for this city, for my family who has established his life here. I’ve had to live such a change when I was a teenager, I know what it is, I would not want this to happen to my children,” he says. “Yes, anything can happen, but our idea is to stay and live here. I’ve always thought them to finish to Newell’s but we must also think about his family. Cravings personal go after the family.”
