Despite a start with the hand brake pulled, the Chelsea of Maurizio Sarri has changed in the second part of the season up to the final of the Europa League and secure a place in the next Champions League.
Interviewed by “Corriere dello Sport”, the technician tuscan spoke of his first experience outside of Italy and the Premier League: “Certainly, we have been able to reach the final, theEuropa League is a competition that takes a lot of energy but gives you great satisfaction. If someone at the time of Empoli, I had predicted this final I would be angry, my goal is the Champions league. Here in England, I found an idea of football which is totally different from Serie A. Everything is at the top here, the organisation, the stadiums, the participation of the fans. I’d like to train more boys to improve the defensive phase, that is the only thing of which they are not fully happy. There are four teams in the Champions in the final two but I think I miss you the most beautiful ,that of Guardiola. I wanted to see the last two penalties against Frankfurt, I truly had the fear that I’m late in the final but in the end we got there and for me it was a great thrill. I have the good fortune to have with me so many strong players, but I did find it hard to inculcate the mindset, we are successful only after the defeat in the League Cup. Italy? The only certain thing I can tell you is that it definitely will stay here at least for another year.”
