While the free agency of this year was of a very high level, the one profile to 2021 promises to be equally impressive with a bundle of superstars potentially on the market.
It was learned today by Shams Charania, Kawhi Leonard is committed for three years with the Clippers. The last year being optional for him, he may test the market as early as 2021. For his part, Paul George may also waive the last year of his contract and become a free agent the same year.
LeBron James, Blake Griffin, Chris Paul, Jrue Holiday are also likely to test the market this year. Giannis Antetokounmpo, Bradley Beal, Victor Oladipo, Rudy Gobert, DeMar DeRozan, CJ McCollum, Donovan Mitchell, Mike Conley, Kyle Kuzma, or Gordon Hayward will be agent-free… Subject not to sign an extension in the meantime. While the NBA has changed a lot this summer, get ready for the same change in two years. The New York Knicks, who have signed a lot of contracts in anticipation of this free agency, should not be missed.
Leonard has signed a two-plus-one and aligned his contract with Paul George — with both players having the ability via player option to enter 2021 free agency. https://t.co/ZK3Z5huqiu
