What is the month of November for Rafael Nadal ! Not only the Spanish player has won the Davis Cup with Spain this Sunday, but he had secured a week before at the Masters instead of n°1 at the end of the year. Also, this Monday, the player of 33 years began his 200eme week-to-head in the ATP rankings ! He had started his reign on 18 August 2008 and had remained on the throne until July 6, 2009. Then it is back to n°1 of June 2010 to June 2011, October 2013 to June 2014 from August 2017 to February 2018, and from April to October, 2018 (except for the week of may 14th and the week of 18 June), before doing so, his return to the place of n°1 on 4 November, what ever a player too-old had failed (33 years and 175 days).

Only five players have managed to stay n°1 in the world for more than 200 weeks : 310 for Roger Federer, 286 for Pete Sampras, 275 for Novak Djokovic, 270 for Ivan Lendl and 268 for Jimmy Connors. Rafael Nadal currently has 840 points ahead of Novak Djokovic and 3395 on Roger Federer. Nadal and Djokovic will return to competition at the ATP Cup for the 3rd to the 12th of January in Perth, which could bring them a maximum of 750 points. The Serbian will next defend his title at the Australian Open (won against Nadal) and will not earn points. The Spanish will therefore remain at least n°1 until mid-February, eleven weeks. Something to bring a bit of club of five…
